The Golden Chair represents one of the most recognizable chairs in the Moooi catalog, a symbol of design called "punk elegance" by Nika Zupanc, who transformed a common school chair into a fairytale throne.
In 2018, the Golden Chair was updated with a sister with a black structure; both can be upholstered in a wide selection of fabrics to suit all needs. This chair combines retro industrial aesthetics associated with contemporary glamour thanks to the bold use of gold that gives it opulence and visual luxury, while the black structure version moves away from opulence to embrace an aesthetic of modern elegance and refined discretion.

Two Structure Variants: Gold and Black

The Golden Chair is essentially made in two versions:

• Golden (Gold): chrome steel structure plated in real gold. It is not a "gold effect" finish; it is galvanization with real precious metal that guarantees authentic warm tones, permanent shine, and resistance to oxidation over time.
