Ouverture is a historical sofa by Poltrona Frau, designed in 1982 by Pierluigi Cerri. It has been reissued today to make it even more comfortable, with new soft leather cushions resting on an industrial steel T-beam. Despite the passage of time, Ouverture remains a sofa with a very modern and contemporary design, ideal for furnishing any living room or lounge. It is impossible not to notice the steel structure with a strong industrial feel, topped by soft seats and cushions in leather or fabric. This subtle play of well-balanced contrasts has stood the test of time. The perforated steel structure is painted with matt black epoxy powders. The main "T" element is connected to the aluminium side profiles by means of interlocking joints. The elements thus joined together are lightweight and tend to disappear under the padded cushions.
With this re-edition of Ouverture, Poltrona Frau has revised the padding of the cushions, which are now more welcoming.** They have undergone an ergonomic correction to give them a less puffy and more inviting appearance. Everything has been taken care of down to the smallest detail, from the buttons on the backrest - a recurring detail in 1980s design and a reference to traditional upholstery - to the slight tapering of the joint between the seat and backrest cushions. The cushions, which are removable in both leather and fabric, ensure exceptional comfort. They are filled with goose down and polyester wadding with a polyurethane foam insert.
