In 2016, Peterson began creating large-scale collages of cities made up of original street photographs. Combining iconic architecture, natural elements, graffiti and more, his Urban Mandalas series for Moooi Carpet Moooi Carpet captures the flowery and fractal nature of cities. With Buddhist art as inspiration, these kaleidoscopic microcosms represent the uniqueness and connectivity of a city to its people. While each design is unique in its details, its shape remains the same throughout the series. An example of the work done for MOOOI Carpet is the Vancouver carpet.
