The Boffi Minikitchen was a true manifesto of modernity, so revolutionary that it earned its designer, Joe Colombo, and Boffi prestigious international awards. It is still part of the permanent collection at the New York museum and other major museums worldwide. Boffi's Minikitchen is a complete unit on wheels, featuring everything a kitchen needs: a refrigerator, cooktop, storage compartments, drawers for pots and dishes for six people, a pull-out tray, sockets for small appliances, and cutting boards. In the 1993 reissue, Boffi updated the structure using 12 mm-thick white Corian®, a material with the same advantages as a stone countertop: heat-resistant, impervious to direct sunlight, and with a color that remains unchanged over time. Since 2007, the Minikitchen has also been produced in marine plywood, an outdoor version designed for open spaces. In 2024, for Boffi's 90th anniversary, the self-supporting structure was revisited.
