Boffi Cove: A Work of Art That Transforms the Kitchen
Cove Kitchen represents one of the most symbolic projects in the formal research of Zaha Hadid Design for Boffi. The system is conceived as a true architectural interpretation of the kitchen: a fluid, continuous volume in which surfaces are sculpted into a single domestic sculpture. Originally launched in 2017 as a limited edition, Cove was profoundly redesigned in 2024 to celebrate Boffi's 90th anniversary and further evolved in 2025 with new finishes and the introduction of a full-length snack counter on the rear side. The lines remain soft and flowing, sculptural volumes and rounded edges create a visual continuity without sharp angles. Taken as a whole, the Cove Kitchen expresses a strongly iconic character that defines the identity of the entire domestic environment.
The 2017 Monobloc Version and the 2024 Evolution
The 2017 monobloc version is distinguished by its sinuous, essential forms where Corian® is shaped into continuous surfaces in dialogue with the warmth of wood.
The 2024 restyling evolves this project while keeping the original essence and design vision intact, with the introduction of a full-length snack counter on the rear side.
Materials and Finishes
An expanded chromatic and material palette with new door and worktop finishes: marbles, quartzite, metallic lacquers and premium finishes allow a degree of personalisation capable of adapting the system to different architectural contexts.
Door Finishes
Silkolak / Ecolak Lacquer: textured matt water-based lacquers, developed exclusively for Boffi. Exclusive colour range, excellent chemical and physical resistance, very limited yellowing over time.
Easy Metals / Metals: lacquers that simulate brushed metal surfaces. Halos and brushing make every piece unique and unrepeatable — discreet elegance and visual depth.
Clay: raw clay mixed with resin, applied by hand with a spatula. Tactile material effect with an enveloping texture and a contemporary character.
Corian®: mouldable, non-porous, hygienic surface, resistant to scratches, heat, UV and impact. The iconic material of the Cove project.
Wood: natural oak, smoked stained oak, antique grey fir, light Canaletto walnut, American elm — natural warmth.
Worktop Finishes
Corian®: Corian remains the iconic material of the project, chosen for its ability to create the fluid continuous surfaces that characterise Cove.
Premium marbles: natural quarried material, matt finish with anti-stain and oleo-hydro-repellent treatment. Available variants: black lava stone · quartzite (imperial breccia, spider black, calacatta) · marble (rosso lepanto, verde alpi, grigio italia, superwhite, bianco lasa fior di melo, grigio carnico, grey stone, Emperador Dark, bianco Carrara) · granite (black cosmic, nero assoluto Zimbabwe).
MDI Composite: purest minerals, matt "natural" finish with decor. Soft to the touch, hygienic, non-toxic, non-porous. Highest resistance to stains, heat, frost, thermal shock, scratches, impact, UV rays and water absorption.
DEKTON®: ultra-compact surface obtained from ceramic materials, quartz and glass subjected to an ultra-compaction process — maximum resistance for intensive use.
Plinth
Made from extruded aluminium, height 10 cm. Available finishes: Silkolak · Ecolak · Clay · Easy Metals · Metals · White.

FAQ – Boffi Cove Kitchen
Answers to the most frequently asked questions on design, materials, customisation, and purchasing.
Are the Gaggenau appliances included?
Yes — the showroom model includes the Gaggenau CV282101M flush-fit induction hob with integrated extraction and the Gaggenau DF270101F 60 cm dishwasher. For new configurations it is possible to choose Gaggenau, Boffi by KWC, or other brands: contact us for a detailed quote.
What is the difference between Corian®, MDI Composito, and DEKTON® for the worktop?
Corian® is the signature material of Cove: mouldable and non-porous, it creates the seamless, flowing surfaces that define the design. MDI Composito is produced from ultra-pure minerals with a "natural" finish — soft to the touch, non-toxic, and fully resistant to stains, frost, and UV. DEKTON® is the most technical choice: ultra-compact (ceramics, quartz, and glass), ideal for those who demand maximum durability under intensive use. Contact us for physical samples and advice on the option best suited to your lifestyle.
Does a Boffi Cove kitchen require preliminary room planning?
Yes — for bespoke configurations a design consultation is recommended to verify measurements, services, and electrical and plumbing provisions. Our team supports the client — and, where needed, their architect or interior designer — from design through to installation, including transport and fitting. For the ready-for-delivery model the process is faster: contact us to check timings and logistics.
Does the Emperador Dark marble worktop require special maintenance?
Yes — as with all Boffi natural marbles, the Emperador Dark is treated during production with a specific stain-proof, oil- and water-repellent treatment that provides a high level of protection. To keep it in optimal condition over time it is advisable to avoid acids (lemon juice, vinegar) and to reapply the protective treatment periodically. Our team will provide you with complete care instructions at the time of delivery.
What are the delivery lead times and transport costs?
The showroom model is available for immediate delivery — lead times depend on logistics and distance: indicatively 4–6 weeks from order confirmation. For new bespoke configurations Boffi's production lead time is 12–16 weeks. Transport and installation costs vary by region and delivery plan: contact us with your address for a transparent, no-surprises quote.
