Maxalto Alcor: Geometry Meets Elegance

Purchase the Alcor storage units by Maxalto at an outlet price and request the reserved offer for these furniture pieces designed by Antonio Citterio. Alcor is a vast collection of sideboards, credenzas, and high and low storage units, in various sizes and heights with flap or hinged doors, equipped with drawers and open compartments. Alcor is distinguished by its pure aesthetic, where geometric volumes seem suspended on slender, stiletto-like feet, a stylistic feature of the collection, which is the support structure in extruded aluminum. The collection offers stylistic interpretations of finishes and materials of extraordinary charm:

  • The Magic of Shellac: A matte finish that evokes the ancient art of oriental lacquering, applied by hand, available in black, red, and soy. There are also painted finishes such aspatinated graphite grey or patinated brown.
  • The Art of Damier Inlay: Sophisticated facades with a checkerboard pattern, the result of masterful cabinet-making, which combines different wood species (grey, light, black oak, tineo, or wengé).

The surprise continues inside: the hinged doors reveal an unexpected glossy red lacquer, while the flap doors reveal an elegant mirrored interior. Alcor is a family of luxury furniture that brings elegance to any room, ideal for furnishing the living area, the entrance, the kitchen, or the study area. The same collection also includes Alcor in the low version with 4 hinged doors

Maxalto Alcor Storage Units Outlet Prices

The Alcor collection of storage units is a balance between the purity of forms and the value of great artisanal tradition. Each piece is a volume that rests on a light aluminum structure, which creates a fascinating play of solids and voids, of solidity and lightness. Alcor is a discreet accessory designed to be a protagonist. The variety of configurations, with hinged or flap doors, drawers, and open compartments, allows for a wide choice of both the luxury sideboard or credenza... for every need. The sartorial care is evident in every detail, from the refined die-cast metal handles to the precise hinges that govern the movement of the doors.

The Magic of the Shellac Finish

The finish of many versions of Alcor is shellac. This ancient technique involves the manual application of numerous layers of natural lacquer to obtain a surface with an unparalleled chromatic effect. It is a process that requires time, patience, and a rare artisanal mastery that transforms each piece of furniture into a unique piece.

The Preciousness of the Damier Inlay

In other versions, Alcor celebrates the art of cabinet-making with the damier facade. The checkerboard pattern is obtained through meticulous work combining woods and grains. The result is a vibrant and textural surface that plays with light and adds incredible decorative value to the rigor of the form. It is proof that a storage unit can also be a work of art.
