Sir Vito: Adjustable-Height Side Table
Sir Vito is the multi-purpose service side table designed by Studio Kairos for B&B Italia. The top has a fluid, organic shape that conceals a rotating tray beneath. The base is composed of four legs of different lengths in die-cast aluminium. The central stem houses a gas-spring telescopic piston mechanism, controlled by a locking ring that allows the height to be set between 56 and 68.5 cm, adapting Sir Vito to different uses and postures.
Telescopic Mechanism: Variable Height
The movement is continuous and smooth, not limited to preset positions: unlock the ring, bring the top to the desired height, lock it again. A robust mechanism designed for intensive daily use.
- H 56 cm: low configuration — ideal as a coffee table beside the sofa, a surface for books and remote controls, or a side element next to armchairs
- H 68.5 cm: high configuration — perfect as a bedside table, a temporary laptop station, or a service surface for breakfast in bed or working sessions in an armchair
- Intermediate adjustments: any height between the two extremes to adapt to chairs, armchairs and sofas of different heights, or specific needs
Rotating Tray: Practical and Intuitive
Beneath the top is a semi-circular tray in painted rigid polyurethane with a leather-lined base, revealed by rotating around a pivot — not a drawer to be pulled open. An ideal storage space for remote controls, glasses, chargers and keys. The leather base protects objects from scratches and adds a precious tactile detail, consistent with B&B Italia's attention to material quality.

How does the height adjustment mechanism work?
The mechanism is an anodised aluminium cylinder guided by a gas spring, similar to that of office chairs but with a locking ring rather than a lever. To adjust: turn the ring to unlock, bring the top to the desired height (between 56 and 68.5 cm), then tighten the ring to lock. The adjustment is continuous and smooth, not limited to preset positions.
How do you open the tray?
The tray is not pulled out — it rotates around a pivot. Simply push the edge gently: the tray swings open to reveal itself. It is the ideal space for small items such as glasses, a remote control, a charger, keys or pens. The base is lined in black leather to protect objects from scratches.
Can I order Sir Vito in configurations other than the outlet version?
