B&B Italia Tetrami: Geometric Rigour

Naoto Fukasawa designed Tetrami starting from a simple observation: the rectangle is the most honest form for storage. No decorative curves, no distracting details — only calibrated proportions and a constructive detail that becomes a signature: the legs are not added elements, but vertical extensions of the two lateral partitions in the tall version, or of the central partition in the low version. The result is an object that communicates rigour without coldness, and simplicity without compromise.

Two Heights, Multiple Configurations

The B&B Italia collection includes free-standing storage units in two heights.
The tall version available in the showroom has a sculptural character and works well as a sideboard in the dining area or as a closing element in a living room wall unit. Made with hinged doors or in the door-and-drawer combination, it can stand alone or be paired with additional units to become the focal point of the daytime zone. The low version is ideal as a companion to the sofa or as a TV unit: a clean surface for display, with open bays or drawers to organise books, remote controls, and everyday objects.

Ash Wood and the Two-Tone Detail

The frame is in solid wood and ash-veneered MDF — a wood that brings warmth and visible texture, brushed to draw out the grain without letting it dominate. The available finishes are brushed light ash and brushed black ash, monochromatic or two-tone by alternating the exterior and interior finishes. The integrated LED lighting with infrared sensor (optional) activates on opening: no switch to install, no cables in sight.

Where It Sits and What It Organises

Tetrami tall is conceived for the living area as a primary sideboard or storage piece: crockery, table linen, and objects that are best kept out of sight find their place behind the two hinged doors, while the top surface becomes a display or serving shelf. In an open-plan living space, positioned against the wall, it works as an ordering element that brings visual calm without occupying excessive depth (45 cm).
The low version, by contrast, naturally dialogues with the sofa: open top surface for decorative objects, internal compartment for everything else.
