Ribbon: A Ribbon of Light

Ribbon is a line, a simple graphic gesture. This table lamp consists of a textured matte black painted steel base and two matte black painted aluminum arms joined by a silicone tube. The practical soul of Ribbon lies in its joint: the aluminum arms, connected by the silicone sleeve, can be adjusted in all directions, offering a range of motion up to 120° on the main joint and ±30° on the upper arm. This means you can point the light exactly onto the spot of the desk where you are writing or onto a bedside table, or turn it upward for a more diffused effect, all without having to move the base. It turns on with a simple touch at the end of the tube to diffuse a soft, delicate, and dimmed light. The light source is an integrated 6W LED with a color temperature of 2700K or 3000K and a luminous output of 230lm.

A Graphic Gesture That Becomes Light

Maurici Ginés designed Ribbon by imagining that the light reaches the table almost as if the electrical cable naturally continued into space.
The result is a slender, wire-like object, almost like a pen stroke, that switches on with a simple touch on the tip of the upper tube, where the dimmer is also integrated to smoothly adjust the intensity.
