Davide Groppi: Light as a Material to Design
Since the late 1980s, Davide Groppi has been designing and producing fixtures in Piacenza that treat light as a material to sculpt, rather than just a function. Vera stems from this design philosophy—an object that plays with perception, where the surprise (the bulb appearing and disappearing) becomes as integral to the design as the light output itself. The light becomes an illusion, the bulb is a hologram that appears upon turning on, generating direct, indirect, and diffused light, while the high-precision reflector ensures an exceptionally high quality of light.

Vera FAQ: Your Questions, Our Answers
Color temperature, brightness, table space: the most common queries before choosing a designer table lamp.
Does Vera provide enough light for reading or working at a table?
Vera is designed as an ambient light with a wide, soft distribution, rather than a targeted task reading lamp. With its built-in dimmer, you can increase its intensity for more functional use; however, if your primary need is reading or working on that surface for long periods, we recommend pairing it with a more directional light source. We can help you find the right combination for your environment.
Is it better to choose the 2700K or 3000K version?
2700K delivers a warmer light, ideal for relaxation areas, bedrooms, and living rooms where you want an intimate, cozy atmosphere. 3000K is slightly more neutral and brighter, which is recommended if Vera will sit alongside cooler light sources or if the room receives little natural light. If in doubt, tell us which room it is for and we will advise you on the most consistent temperature based on your existing lighting.
With its 50 cm diameter, where can I place it so it doesn't look oversized?
Vera works beautifully on consoles, sideboards, end tables, or spacious nightstands where its scenic presence has room to breathe. On surfaces shallower than 50-60 cm, it risks looking too large for its support. Measuring your available space beforehand will help you avoid this common mistake.
Does the price include a warranty and certificate of authenticity?
Yes, we are an authorized Davide Groppi dealer. Every product is 100% original, backed by the manufacturer's official warranty, and includes a certificate of authenticity.
