Maxalto Sileo: The Bed That Embraces Silence
Previewed at Maison&Objet, Sileo is the new bed designed by Antonio Citterio for Maxalto. Its name, deriving from the Latin “silere” - silence, quiet - immediately evokes the dimension for which it was conceived: an elegant and protective refuge within the bedroom.
Protective Design, Perfect Proportions
The distinctive feature of the Sileo bed is the H 120 cm headboard; proportioned and enveloping, it plays a central role in the project and is designed to support the head and back during reading in maximum comfort. The padding creates a boiserie effect, integrating with the soft shapes of the bed frame, which are rounded and compact. The headboard and bed frame evoke an elegant and sober design with a strong sense of compactness and solidity, accentuated by the base resting directly on the floor with a refined metal edge, allowing it to integrate easily into both classic and contemporary environments. The base is finished with an aluminium profile in the following variants: Painted bronzed nickel, Painted black chrome, Painted graphite, Painted amber. The fabric version has fully removable covers, maintaining a formal cleanliness that doesn't sacrifice everyday practicality. The mattress is excluded, leaving maximum choice to the customer.
