The square-quilted partitioning of Tufty-Bed is the very same detailing that defines the Tufty Time seating collection, brought by Patricia Urquiola from the living area into the bedroom. The nod to Chesterfield and capitonné tailoring remains recognizable, yet its regular square geometry places it in a more contemporary register than traditional capitonné. The seating collection itself continues to evolve, as seen in the Tufty Time 20 sofa.
Patricia Urquiola: From Polytechnic to Her Own Studio
Patricia Urquiola studied architecture and design at the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid and the Politecnico di Milano, where she graduated under Achille Castiglioni. In Spain, she received the Gold Medal of Fine Arts and the Cross of Isabella the Catholic. She founded her own studio in 2001, working on industrial product design, hospitality, retail, and residential architecture, art direction, and strategic consulting. Her work is exhibited at the MoMA in New York, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

What dimensions are available for Tufty-Bed?
Tufty-Bed is available in five sizes; this offer refers to the LTU 180 model for a 180x200 cm mattress. Consult the technical sheet or write to us to verify other available sizes and corresponding codes.
Is the mattress included in the price?
No, the mattress is not included. The bed is supplied with a pair of slatted base frames (Cod. RD2); the mattress should be chosen separately based on your support preferences.
Can I get Tufty-Bed with a storage compartment?
Yes, models LTU160C and LTU180C feature a closed-to-the-floor configuration with storage, a gas-spring lift mechanism operated manually, and an MDF panel internal bottom.
Are the upholstery covers removable?
The upholstery is available in fabric or leather. The product covers are difficult to remove and require specialized professional assistance.
