Tufty-Time features an internal steel tubular and profiled steel frame, padded with cold-shaped flexible polyurethane foam and a polyester fiber cover. The back cushion (Cod. T60_C) is made of down and polyester fiber, in a pillow style. The upholstery, in fabric or leather, reinterprets Chesterfield and capitonné workmanship in a more liberated and informal key. The system develops from the base ottoman, flanked by central elements, terminals, terminal-ottomans, and corners, to build linear configurations, chaise longue setups, corner layouts, or island configurations with seating.

Tufty-Time: Patricia Urquiola's Reinterpretation

"I wanted to revisit the capitonné and Chesterfield typologies... of the 1960s and 1970s, of which I am a great admirer," Patricia Urquiola stated regarding Tufty-Time, introduced in 2005. The resulting modular system remains one of the most established products in the B&B Italia catalog.

A Family Spanning the Living Area and Bedroom

The exact same quilted language of Tufty-Time was brought into the bedroom with the Tufty-Bed, while the seating collection continues to renew itself with the Tufty-Time 20 sofa. Patricia Urquiola studied architecture and design at the Universidad Politécnica in Madrid and the Politecnico di Milano, where she graduated under Achille Castiglioni. She founded her own studio in 2001, and her work is exhibited at the MoMA in New York, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
