Maxalto new collection at Maison&Objet presents two chairs, Despina and Cleide, they are seats that are re-edited and adapted, they were already present in the Maxalto collection in the nineties, they are the reinterpretation of two historical models from the history of Maxalto, the designer Antonio Citterio taking up the designs of the Modus collection has readapted them to time, re-proportioned and adapted to modern production techniques, thus confirming once again one of Maxalto's founding values, that is to be Timeless "Timeless Elegance". The Cleide chair is a handcrafted work of art, an imposing backrest for a chair whose lines and design are inspired by the 20s and 30s. The chair has a solid oak structure and is available in three finishes: gray oak, brushed light oak or brushed black oak, the front and rear legs are curved, but what catches the eye is the backrest with a wide, imposing and accentuated curvature that seems to embrace us, a linear formality given by full and empty spaces of the vertical slats that make up the backrest. Cleide has a backrest built with a series of hand-brushed vertical slats, the seat is in plywood padded with shaped polyurethane and covered with fabrics and leathers compatible with the collection and the covers are not removable. Cleide is a chair that makes material abundance the counterpart to the stylistic essentiality of the rigorous lines, archetypal lines, designed to lighten the impact in the domestic context, the chair is overall elegant, with a vaguely austere air, a blend of culture and territory, of creativity and practice that remains strongly linked to craftsmanship, ideal for furnishing interiors such as the living room and the kitchen.
