Bijou: Sangallo Reimagined by Society Limonta
Sangallo is one of the oldest motifs in the Italian textile tradition—an openwork embroidery that our grandmothers used to crochet onto linen sheets and tablecloths. Society Limonta reads its grammar through a contemporary lens: a macro scale and froissé linen instead of starched cotton. The result is an object that carries the memory of an artisanal technique but fits perfectly onto today's table, whether formal or informal, with white or colorful plates, with or without a centerpiece.
Bijou: Three Ways to Set the Table
The openwork weave of the macro Sangallo offers three styling possibilities: tone on tone, by layering the tablecloth over an under-tablecloth of the same color for a textured and enveloping effect; in contrast, by pairing distinctly different colors to make the embroidery design stand out; on a bare table, by placing Bijou directly onto the wood or stone surface for a minimal look where the openwork reveals the surface below. The Bijou palette consists of a single color: White, bright and classic with any mise en place.

Why Choose Bijou
A tablecloth is ideal when you want the table to be part of the interior design project—not just as an interchangeable accessory, but as an element with a recognizable presence. The froissé linen of Bijou requires no ironing, improves with washing by gaining softness, and resists the test of time without losing the embroidery pattern. The neutral, bright White color covers every style, from the formal table of grand occasions to an informal aperitif on the terrace.

Society Limonta Bijou Tablecloth FAQ
Material, washing, sizing, and delivery: everything you need to know before ordering.
Can Bijou be machine washed? Do I need to iron it?
Yes, it can be machine washed at 40°C with separate colors and without fabric softener. There is no need to iron it: froissé linen is born with an irregular look, and the "lived-in" character of the fabric is a quality, not a defect. If you want to keep it tidier, gently stretch the tablecloth while still damp before hanging it. Ironing is allowed at high temperatures (max 110°C).
How do I choose the right size for my table?
The general rule: the tablecloth should hang down by 25–30 cm on each side of the tabletop. For a 120×120 cm table, the 170×170 cm size fits perfectly. For rectangular tables seating 6–8 people, 170×240 cm is the balanced choice. For tables seating 10–12 people or for banqueting, choose 170×300 cm.
What does "garment-dyed" mean and why is each piece different?
Garment-dyeing is carried out after the fabric has already been woven and finished. This process enhances the qualities of the linen and creates natural tonal variations that make each piece unique. These irregularities are distinctive features of the product, intentionally sought after by Society Limonta's design, and should not be considered production defects.
What are the delivery times?
