Neff High-End Appliances For Kitchen And Home

Website: Neff

On 12 June 1877, in a small timber and masonry building in Bretten, in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, master craftsman Carl Andreas Neff and six companions lit the first forge of the Carl Neff Herd und Ofenfabrik — literally, a factory of coal-fired stoves and ovens for the families of the region. Upon Carl's death in 1910, his sons inherited a company with 40 employees and an expanding market. In 1914 came the first gas oven; in 1950 the first oven with a thermostat; and in 1955, Neff began producing appliances in a range of colours to match bespoke fitted kitchens. Today Neff is one of the premium brands of the BSH Group (Bosch-Siemens), headquartered in Munich, and continues to manufacture in Bretten the ovens and hobs that have built its worldwide reputation.

Slide&Hide®, CircoTherm®, and TwistPad®: When a Patent Becomes Freedom in the Kitchen

At Neff, every innovation begins with a concrete question: what gets in the way of people who love to cook? The most revolutionary answer is the Slide&Hide® — the only oven in the world with a disappearing door: instead of opening outward, it slides beneath the oven cavity, eliminating the physical obstruction in front of the oven and leaving free space to get close to dishes, check the cooking, or add fresh herbs at the last moment. CircoTherm® is the patented hot-air circulation system that allows a starter, a main course, and a dessert to be cooked simultaneously on different shelves without flavours mingling. The TwistPad® is a removable magnetic control knob: detach it from the hob, take it wherever you need, reposition it. Three patents, one single vision — cooking should be a pleasure, not a compromise.

FlexInduction, Flex Design, and the Neff Collection

Neff's innovation continues with FlexInduction technology, which allows the four induction zones of the hob to be used either individually or merged into one large cooking zone, adapting to any pan of any shape and size with no positioning constraints. With the Neff Collection and the Flex Design system, interchangeable aesthetic elements are introduced in four colours — knobs, frames, and coordinated details — transforming appliances into an integral part of the kitchen design project, not mere technical accessories. The Twist Touch® control completes the picture: hob adjustment at the touch of a finger, with the same precision as a traditional knob and the simplicity of an intuitive gesture.

FAQ – Neff: Your Questions, Our Answers

Who founded Neff and where is it manufactured?

Neff was founded on 12 June 1877 in Bretten, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, by master craftsman Carl Andreas Neff with six colleagues, as a small factory of coal-fired stoves and ovens. After his death in 1910, his sons continued the expansion — the first gas oven in 1914, the first oven with a thermostat in 1950. Today Neff is part of the BSH Group (Bosch-Siemens Hausgeräte), headquartered in Munich, and retains its historic production facility in Bretten.

What is the Slide&Hide® oven and why is it unique?

The Slide&Hide® is the oven patented by Neff with a disappearing door — instead of opening outward like any other oven, it slides and conceals itself completely beneath the oven cavity in a single gesture. The result is the complete elimination of the physical obstruction in front of the oven opening. It is the only oven in the world with this feature, which has remained an exclusive Neff patent for over twenty years.

What is CircoTherm® and what is its advantage over conventional convection?

CircoTherm® is Neff's patented system for distributing hot air inside the oven. Unlike conventional convection, which distributes heat by mixing smells between shelves, CircoTherm® ensures separate heat circulation for each shelf, allowing different dishes (starter, main, dessert) to be cooked simultaneously without flavours contaminating one another. This means fewer separate cooking sessions, less time, and lower energy consumption — without any compromise on the quality of the final result.
